D/s recs?
Can anyone rec me some good D/s or Master/slave originals? Anything goes - sci-fi, fantasy, historical, slave world (in which case, though, not one or more group of people being slaves because of a uniting genetic factor like race or sex... except maybe if it's a 360○ with the white, straight male being all slaved up? I don't know, I've not read any, but it's an intriguing idea); BDSM, dub-con - whatever as long as there is domination and submission in some form. And lots of sex. Oh, and I know this is a slash comm, but any combination of the sexes is good with me, including moresomes, if you're allowed to rec them in comments.

It gets Special Bonus Points if there's character study regarding the psychology of the character re: getting off on dominating/being dominated. It just makes it hotter, being the sucker for meta and character studies that I am.

Any length is good; plot's ok as long as the sex is the main focus. I just want pr0n, lol.

Pleeeease rec everything you've got (including fics from strange fandoms; desperation's talking here); I suck at finding good stories myself and I'm tired of re-reading the one word file I saved from some kink meme. (And I'm looking at a couple of internet-less weeks, so I need stuff saved!)

I just finished reading 'Entwined' & 'Rainbow Fish' witch are both Sci-Fi, and honestly I was never one for Sci-Fi stories, but after reading those two I think I've become a fan! Summary: When grizzled gumshoe Steven Sweeney takes a case from a mysterious client, he gets into the middle of a mystery where no one can be trusted. Has Sweeney finally bitten off more than he can chew? Is this the case that will finally have Sweeney sleeping with the fishes?

Review: It's only the first chapter, but the narration is refreshing and snarky and totally befitting of its genre, the cast of characters presented in the first chapter are already awesome and it's shaping up to look like a totally awesome mystery story. That aside, the author's writing style is crisp, amazing and perfect, and it reads like a warm cup of cocoa on a rainy night. Hardboiled-noir slash - who could say no to that?

Excerpt: He was a young fella, ‘bout my age. Blonde. Clean cut in a way I’d always associated with the suits down in the business district but also kinda lean and cagey. Like a cat. It reminded me too much of the button men I’d traded bullets with only a few weeks before in the Valenti warehouse on the docks. The casual way he had his hands in his pockets probably meant he was packing heat.

“Detective Steven Sweeney?”

And then I clean forgot everything else, because he had a smile like the edge of a razor. All thin lines with just a small hint of teeth. Like a barracuda. Made the hairs on the back of my neck shoot right up.

I found my hand drifting instinctively to the drawer with my gun, but I made myself keep my arms crossed. “Yeah, that’s me.”

At least it better be to get Brad's attention, or somebody's going to have an accident in the weight room before practice.

Regardless of whatever inanity Ray's performing for the viewing public and Marissa Henderson's amusement, Nate's pretty sure it won't work on Brad. Mostly because he can feel Brad's eyes drilling holes into the back of his head. He is not going to turn around, though; that's just what Brad wants him to do.

Review: Another one of hackthis' awesome fics, and finally, finally, a high school story of two best friends falling for each other that I can believe in. The uncertainty, fumbling and feeling of being lost were achingly sweet. The friendship between the two boys is beautifully painted with little strokes of gestures and silly words and just enough subtext to make you yearn for them to get together. (And this, without turning either into a clueless idiot.) Also, the characters are love, love :)

We've had a few people confused about tagging and formatting lately, so I thought I would point out that the massive amount of information you need to successfully post a recommendation can be found on the community profile, which is here: http://community.livejournal.com/the_slash_pile/profile

I've just cleaned out our tags page, too, so I'll have a talk about those while I'm here. Posters should create their own 'rec'd by' tags, and their of 'author:' tags (if it is the first story to be recommended by that author). As for other tags, please use your common sense. Do not create your own genre tags, and only create tags for other things if you think those tags are likely to be used again. Tags are for finding things. Ask yourself if someone might be looking for something under the category your tag supplies.

If you're not sure if a particular story has been recommended before, check to see if their is a tag for that author on our tags page. If there is not, then it has not been recommended. If there is, check to see if the story you wish to recommend is under that tag.

There should only be one post per story. The exception to this is completion alerts. If a story has been recommended while it is still a work in progress, then a post may be made upon its completion to alert those who do not wish to read incomplete works. These posts should be tagged only with 'completion alert'.

As this is primarily a community for recommendations of original slash fiction, there is sometimes confusion about what is allowed. Essentially, if it's gay and it is not a fan work (fan art, fan fiction, etc.) then it is allowed. AFF Stories

I'm relieved I found The Slash Pile yesterday because I'm so so tired of going through all the crap on adultfanfiction.net in order to find a good story. So far there are four I always come back to. Sorry if they've already been recc'd, but hey, they're good enough that they deserve a thousand posts each.
The first has already been recc'd but just in case - Muffin by Mahsa is absolutely brilliant.
Summary: He was just a homeless kid wandering the streets, never expecting his life to change, for the worse or the better.
Crappy Predicament by Amuse

My absolute favourite - Dandruff by Munez
Summary: After walking in on his revered mentor in a kinky, compromising position, Jacob blackmails his way into the man’s home… but he never estimated ending up in his bed, too.
Lord of the Phones by Landen (oneshot)
Summary: Charlie, in the process of pretending to be a 13 year old girl, meets the man of his dreams who quickly becomes the man of his nightmares.
Apart from the oneshot the other three are WIPs - all being (albeit rather slowly) updated.
Also, I'm not really into it but I know another really popular story is Monsoon by Night Writer, for those hungry for stories like me.
Summary: It was a bad idea to put me in charge of hiring someone to work at the Monsoon; they should have known I'd pick the most personally entertaining man that showed up.

Why everyone should read this: First, I admit, I am not a cross-gen fan. And worse, I absolutely cannot see Draco doing anything with the son of Harry Potter, unless he were with Harry Potter. There, I said it. And yet, and here is where my mind was blown, I loved this fic enough to consider the possibility that I was wrong! After a tragedy in the family, Draco and Albus find solace in each other, very unexpectedly and sometimes unwillingly. Their grief is very real, as is their response to it, which makes it all that more heartbreaking. This fic is messy, and hard to read at points, but such a breath of fresh air amongst other cookie-cutter fics. And even though Scorpius is never in the scene, you feel him in every breath both Draco and Albus take, enough to feel that you know him too and are saddened by his loss. This author and I started in fandom on the same exact day and its been a pleasure to see her talent grow. This, to me, is my favorite fic of hers because not only does it make me a proud friend to know she wrote it, I'm extremely jealous of this girl's writing chops! So run to this fic, don't stand still, and give this author some much deserved love!!!!

Ok, so I searched and wasn't able to find this here. Just wanted to share it with English L fans.

Trevor Devall is the English voice of Aizawa from the anime dub. He has his own website where he interviews fellow voice actors in podcasts. I found a recent one for Alessandro Juliani (voice actor for L). You can stream or download the file.

The podcast is an hour and 17 minutes, and of course it's not only about his anime roles. But about 24 minutes in he talks about L. Then there are some weird parody commercials and later they do fan questions (46:20). Most of them are about L.

The tone of the thing is very laid back and silly. Both guys have a great sense of humor. They kid around and slip on these different accents. It's fun to listen to if you have the time and are interested in AJ, or his thoughts on L.

Finally, if you search that site you can find interviews with other Death Note voice actors. Enjoy! :)

Review: Hey people, I have a rec for you, I'm not sure if this story has been rec'd yet and if it has Im sorry, but this is like one of the best original slash fiction stories I have ever read and one of my favorites. I love Seth, the main character, you can't help but love him and want to hug him. He's adorable and sweet and so surprisingly tender for everything that he's endured. Seth's voice is incredibly real... especially about the abuse etc. Love how his thoughts and feelings are so strong all the time.. he just hardly ever says them out loud. So Tuesday's character is just remarkable. So incredibly complex and unpredictable, I love that. I love characters that you can never fully understand and always manage to surprise you. During the very beginning, I won't lie, I thought he was the biggest ass. I actually really disliked his character. But I swear he grew on me so fast. I mean he's still a jerk, but it works. The dialogue is perhaps the most striking part of this story, because despite its highly emotional content it never seems anything but real and heartbreaking. The character development is just..extraodrinary

Why everyone should read this: I can't believe I'm reccing something here, this is one of my favourite communities on LJ. Okay, gather. Let's keep it simple: this is a brilliant fic. It focuses on Susan, Hannah and other Hufflepuff students in their 7th year as they try to survive and continue the resistance in Dumbledore's Army while being constantly reminded of their loved ones' fate. Susan and Hannah's friendship is amazingly written, the Hufflepuffs have distinct personalities and a distinct universe (the kitchen of Hogwarts, the house-elves, The Three Broomsticks) and the plot is incredibly gripping and realistic. This fic has an excellent adventure plot and the mystery is partly unresolved at the end so you can draw your own conclusions. Flawless piece, I wish we had this kind of treat more often.
